Biological monitoring in Tokyo, Japan (February 12, 2012)

Biological monitoring in Tokyo Sea Life Park

I visited Tokyo Sea Life Park to see biological impacts of Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant accident. I could see various kinds of sea creatures which were fed marine products of Tsukiji Fish Market in Tokyo ( http://www.tsukiji-market.or.jp/tukiji_e.htm ). I saw tunas and sharks which eat same fish as Japanese do. Generally speaking, animal's growth is faster than human beings, so they are more sensitive to radioactive materials of the environment than us. Fortunately, they seemed healthy and I couldn't find any impact of the accident. Japanese stricter food safety law saves our lives successfully so people in Tokyo have no worry about food.

Bluefin tunas swim at high speed.
We can see the dorsal fin only when it turns.

I saw Mt Fuji from the park.
About Tokyo Sea Life Park

If you watch carefully, you can see the dorsal fin when it turns.

The dorsal fin is folded.

These sharks eat Japanese fish too.

We can see various kinds of see creatures around the world.

I met the giant grouper and the Napoleon fish last year too.

Japanese fish are beautiful too.
They are cute.

People in Tokyo have no worry about the accident because Tokyo have no nuclear power plant. And radioactive materials from the site couldn’t reach there. So People in Tokyo are living without any concern about the accident.

I am continuing to visit various places in Japan to see the effects of the accident, because I can see people as well as many creatures which are sensitive to radioactive materials from the environment. It is important to see their health for our safety.
