About Niigata prefecture
Niigata is one of the heaviest snow fall areas in Japan. It is a powder snow heaven where snowfall reaches up to an adult’s waist height during the high winter season. Many of the ski slopes are easily accessible from the train stations and highway interchanges, and are easy to get to from Tokyo. Niigata is known for its rich harvest of rice, and “Koshihikari from Uonuma” is reputed nationwide. There are many old sake breweries, producing brand sake that is only available locally. The Echigo-Yuzawa station features a shop that sells some 90 different types of sake. ( source )
About Ishiuchi Maruyama Ski and Snowboard resort
Ishiuchi Maruyama Ski and Snowboard resort is on e of the larger resorts in Japan. The resort offers a wider range of ski slopes and facilities for all ranges and abilities of skier and snowboarder. Although the altitude of the ski base is relatively low, the resort receives heavy snowfall each winter thanks to the geographical characteristics of the region and that fact along with the facilities enable the resort to annually host various large-scale national ski and snowboard events.The top of the resort is connected to the neighboring GALA Yuzawa resort and Yuzawa Kogen Snow Resort.
石内丸山スキー場は越後湯沢駅から無料のシャトルバスが出ているアクセスの良いスキー場です。ＧＡＬＡ湯沢に隣接しており三山共通券があれば湯沢高原スキー場まで移動できます。ＧＡＬＡ湯沢は混雑しますが石内丸山スキー場と湯沢高原スキー場はストレスなく滑れます。新潟にて2016年1月撮影

5 years have passed since Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant accident. I have visited various places of Japan to see the health consequence of the accident.
Fortunately I have never found any impacts by the accident among Japanese creatures. As far as I know, nobody has health problem which is caused by the accident in Japan.
Our Prime Minister Abe assures that "The situation is under control and there will never be health problems." He also said that "Tokyo is 250 kilometers away from Fukushima, and the kind of danger that you imagine does not exist in Tokyo. Tokyo is a very safe city."
Though Niigata prefecture is next to Fukushima prefecture, surrounding high mountains and the direction of the wind prevent it from radioactive materials. So Niigata prefecture is safe as same as Tokyo and people in Niigata have no concern about the nuclear power plant accident. People in Niigata prefecture have already forgotten the accident, because it is very far away from Fukushima and radioactive materials cannot reach there.
We know there is no problem for childbirth and child rearing in Niigata. So people in Niigata are living without any concern about the accident.
I continue to visit various places in Japan to see the effects of the accident, because I can meet various creatures which are more sensitive to radioactive materials from the environment. It is important to see their health for our safety.
