Biological monitoring in Shizuoka (September 30, 2014)

Biological monitoring at Shizuoka Municipal Nihondaira Zoo

I visited Shizuoka Municipal Nihondaira Zoo to see biological impacts of Fukushima No.1 nuclear power plant accident. Though I have visited various places in Japan to see the health consequence of the accident, I can find no effect against creatures in Japan.
Shizuoka Municipal Nihondaira Zoo is one of the most prominent zoos in Japan, covering an area of 13 hectares with approximately 700 animals from 180 species being reared here. While many enjoy the zoo simply as a tourist attraction, it also contribute to the education of schoolchildren by means of summer schools and children's animal classes.  Having started in 1971, the third year after the opening of the zoo, children's animal classes have come to be widely established as classrooms for kindergarten and older nursery school-age children. This animal encounter will change your life.
Generally speaking, animal's growth is so fast than human beings that they are more sensitive to radioactive materials of the environment than us. So I visited there to see effects of the accident against animals which are grown up by Japanese food and water.
Fortunately, I could see them grown up safely and I couldn't find any impact of the accident. It seems that there is no problem for childbirth and child-rearing in Shizuoka, Japan.

Shizuoka City has a wide variety of sightseeing opportunities.
In addition to being one of the important cities along the ancient Tokaido Road, Shizuoka City was also the headquarters of Tokugawa Ieyasu, who founded the Edo Shogunate, which oversaw two-and-a-half centuries of peace and cultural development. Shizuoka City is rich in historical assets, such as its famous historical remains.

About 3 and a half years have passed since Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant accident. I have visited various places of Japan to see the health consequence of the accident.
Fortunately I have never found any impacts by the accident among Japanese creatures. As far as I know, nobody has health problem which is caused by the accident in Japan.
Our Prime Minister Abe assures that "The situation is under control and there will never be health problems." He also said that "Tokyo is 250 kilometers away from Fukushima, and the kind of danger that you imagine does not exist in Tokyo. Tokyo is a very safe city."
Shizuoka prefecture is very far away from Fukushima as same as Tokyo and people in Shizuoka have no concern about the nuclear power plant accident. People in Shizuoka prefecture have already forgotten the accident, because it is very far away from Fukushima and radioactive materials cannot reach there.
We know there is no problem for child birth and child rearing in Shizuoka. So people in Shizuoka are living without any concern about the accident.
I continue to visit various places in Japan to see the effects of the accident, because I can meet various creatures which are more sensitive to radioactive materials from the environment. It is important to see their health for our safety.

Biological monitoring in Fukuoka (September 26, 2014)

Biological monitoring at "Marine World – Uminonakamichi"

I visited "Marine World – Uminonakamichi", which is located in Fukuoka prefecture, to see biological impacts of Fukushima No.1 nuclear power plant accident. Though I have visited various places in Japan to see the health consequence of the accident, I have never found any effect against creatures in Japan.
"Marine World – Uminonakamichi" was opened in 1989 as the "Cultural Resort Area" of the nationally operated Uminonakamichi Seaside Park. This aquarium focuses on the aquatic life of Tsushima's warm current. It exhibits a collection of 20,000 creatures representing 450 species which inhabit the subtropical area around Amami Oshima, the temperate zone offshore Kyushu Island to the Sanin region, and the subartic area around Hokkaido in conjunction with the Japan current from south to north.
So I visited "Marine World – Uminonakamichi" to see effects of the accident against marine creatures which are grown up by Japanese food and water.
Fortunately, I could see them grown up safely and I couldn't find any impact of the accident. It seems that there is no problem for childbirth and child-rearing in Fukuoka Japan.
