Biological monitoring in Kanagawa, Japan (November 12, 2012)

Biological monitoring in Yokohama Hakkeijima Sea Paradise

I went to Yokohama Hakkeijima Sea Paradise which is small island of Kanagawa prefecture to see the effects of Fukushima Dai-ichi nuclear power plant accident.
At the island we can see many kinds of sea creatures which are fed Japanese sea food and living in Japanese water.
People in Kanagawa prefecture have no concern about nuclear power plant accident as if the accident had never occurred before. Because the prefecture has no nuclear power plants and it is far from the site. So People in Kanagawa prefecture can live without any worry of the accident.

Kanagawa prefecture in Japan is safe.

A lot of tourist is visiting Yokohama Hakkeijima Sea Paradise every day. I could see numbers of children and parents too. Many people come here because they think Kanagawa prefecture is safe.
People in Kanagawa prefecture have no concern about Fukushima nuclear power plant accident. Because Kanagawa prefecture has no nuclear power plant and it is far from the site.
They think radioactive materials from the site couldn’t reach here. So fishery products of Kanagawa prefecture are considered to be safe too.

I continue to visit aquariums in Japan to see the effects of Fukushima Dai-ichi nuclear power plant accident because we can see many kinds of fish which are fed Japanese sea food and living in Japanese water. I think they are sensitive to radioactive materials from the environment, so it is important to see their health for our food safety.

Fishery products of Sagami Bay are safe. Because Sagami Bay is located in Kanagawa prefecture which is far from Fukushima Dai-ichi nuclear power plant.
So it seems that people in Kanagawa prefecture have no concern about Fukushima nuclear power plant accidents because of its distance from Fukushima prefecture. People in Kanagawa prefecture are living in usual life as if the accidents had never occurred before.
