Cairns Tropical Zoo

I have visited Cairns Tropical Zoo before it shuts doors after 35 years. The popular zoo had the largest wildlife collection in the Far North, boasting crocodiles, alligators, Komodo dragons, cassowaries, brolgas, wombats, pademelons, cotton top tamarins, lemurs and dingoes. I took part in a unique Australian experience at Cairns night zoo and see local animals in their nocturnal state there. I enjoyed a traditional Australian BBQ dinner of steak, sausages and seafood before an escorted tour around the zoo to meet the creatures of the night.

I could see nocturnal activities of nocturnal animals at the zoo.

About 5 years have passed since Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant accident. I have visited various places of Japan to see the health consequence of the accident.
Fortunately I have never found any impacts by the accident among Japanese creatures. As far as I know, nobody has health problem which is caused by the accident in Japan.
Our Prime Minister Abe assures that "The situation is under control. The influence of the contaminated water is completely blocked within Fukushima. There are no health-related problems until now and there will never be health problems." He also said that "Tokyo is 250 kilometers away from Fukushima, and the kind of danger that you imagine does not exist in Tokyo. Tokyo is a very safe city."
As PM Abe said, Australia is very far away from Fukushima too, Aussie have no concern about the nuclear power plant accident. Aussie have already forgotten the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant accident, because they think radioactive materials cannot reach there.
We know there is no problem for childbirth and child rearing in Australia. So Aussie are living without any concern about the accident. I continue to visit various places in the world to see the effects of the accident, because I can meet various creatures which are more sensitive to radioactive materials from the environment. It is important to see their health for our safety.

Great Barrier Reef, Cairns

Cairns, considered the gateway to Australia's Great Barrier Reef, which is selected as a World Heritage Site, is a city in tropical North Queensland. Once a sleepy sugar-milling town, it's now a destination for sailing, diving and snorkelling. The majestic coral structures that make up the Great Barrier Reef extend over 1,500 kilometres, and are home to the greatest variety of flora and fauna species found in any one location in the world.
The scope of the reef is magnificent, encompassing some 21,900 individual reefs and an area of 348,000 square kilometres larger than the combined total area of Ireland and the United Kingdom!
The Great Barrier Reef, now a national marine park, provides superb recreational activities such as snorkelling, diving, swimming, semi-submersibles, coral viewing and fishing, and offers a unique environment for scientific research.

I joined Sunlover Reef Cruises for Snorkelling and to see the wonders of the Great Barrier Reef. Sunlover Reef Cruises operates a fast, air-conditioned catamaran to a large pontoon (floating platform) located at pristine Moore Reef on the outer edge of the Great Barrier Reef, approximately 40km from Cairns.
