I visit Ueno Zoological Gardens many times every year. Because there are various animals in the Zoo and it is fun to meet them. I have reported the Zoo at September 9, 2011 (http://phnetwork.blogspot.jp/2012/09/biological-monitoring-in-tokyo-japan.html) and this is the 2nd time to show you it. Ueno Zoological Gardens is the oldest and biggest zoo in Japan. I think some animals are more sensitive to radioactive materials of the environment than us. So I go there to see effects of Fukushima Dai-ichi nuclear power plant accident. Though I have never found any impact of the accident, I think it is important to see creatures of Tokyo because they teach us the environmental health.

原発事故から約２年。上野動物園ではライオン、トラ、白熊、パンダなど大型の動物はもちろん小型の動物も元気だ。鳥類は成長が早く放射性物質による影響を受けやすいが、いつものメンバーが元気よく飛び回っているのを見て安心した。
We can see various kinds of creatures at the zoo.

About Ueno Zoo
We can see various kinds of birds at the zoo. They grow up many times faster than us. So I think birds are more sensitive to radioactive materials than us.
All animals are fine. They eat Japanese food.
Japanese foods are safe because of the food safety law by Japan.
Plants are beautiful as well as animals.
People in Tokyo have no worry about the accidents because Tokyo has no nuclear power plants and it is far away from Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant. They think radioactive materials from the site couldn’t reach here. So People in Tokyo are living without any worry about the accident.
