Biological monitoring at San Diego (May 29, 2013)

Biological monitoring at San Diego Zoo

I visited San Diego Zoo, California, USA for Biological monitoring. Though I have visited various places in Japan to see the health consequence of Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant accident, I can find no effect against creatures in Japan. However, there is a concern that radioactive materials will be brought to overseas by the wind. So I have wanted to see the effects against overseas too.
San Diego is in front of Pacific Ocean as same as Japan. I have wondered if animals in San Diego have some effects by Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant accident.
The San Diego Zoo is a 100-acre home to the world's renowned animal collection. The Zoo's more than 4,000 animals live in barless enclosures that resemble their natural habitats.
So I visited the zoo to see effects of the accident against animals living there. As far as I observed, they were fine and I couldn’t find any impact of the accident. People in San Diego have no worry about the accident, because it is far away from the site and radioactive materials couldn’t reach there.

カリフォルニア州のサンディエゴ動物園は米国で最も有名な動物園で、絶滅の危機に瀕した種を含む4000種類以上の動物が保護されている。動物たちは広大な敷地で自然に近い状態で飼育されている。

The zoo is the largest zoo in the USA.
It was too big to walk around.

Burmese Python (albino specimen)
This albino snake lacks pigment.

Many baby animals were born here.

The San Diego Zoo is home to giant pandas, eagles, Galapagos tortoises, and so on. There are over 4,000 rare animals at the zoo. The San Diego Zoo is the largest zoo in the USA.

This giant panda has a 8 month old baby.
But I had forgot to take a picture.
So I cannot show it.

2 years have passed since Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant accident. I have visited various places of Japan. Fortunately I have never found any impacts by the accident among Japanese creatures. As far as I know, nobody has health problem which is caused by the accident in Japan.
So people in San Diego have already forgotten the nuclear power plant accident too. Because San Diego is very far away from the site and radioactive materials cannot reach there. We know there is no problem for child birth and child rearing in San Diego. So people in San Diego are living without any concern about the accident. I continue to visit various places in the world to see the effects of the accident, because I can meet various creatures which are sensitive to radioactive materials from the environment. It is important to see their health for our safety.

Biological monitoring at San Diego Bay (May 24, 2013)

Biological monitoring at San Diego Bay

I visited San Diego Bay, California, USA for Biological monitoring. Though I have visited various places in Japan to see the health consequence of Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant accident, I can find no effect against creatures in Japan. However, there is a concern that radioactive materials will flow to overseas by the ocean current. So I have wanted to see the effects against overseas too. San Diego is in front of Pacific Ocean as same as Japan. I have wondered if marine animals in San Diego have some effects by Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant accident. So I visited San Diego, CA to see effects of the accident against marine animals which eat fish. As a result I could see many Californian Sea Lions and wild birds. They were fine and I couldn’t find any impact of the accident. People in San Diego have no worry about the accident, because it is far away from the site and radioactive materials couldn’t reach there.

It is a "Boat with Wheels".
We rode on this car and visited marine animal's habitat.
We cruised through the waters that were the playground of the California Sea Lion.

San Diego Bay is beautiful.
